What are the Early Career Awards?

The Early Career Awards are a new form of literary prize, combining the power of awards with the unique, year-round educational programme of the National Centre for Writing. Support from Arts Council England has helped us create an early career digital programme, providing free resources, professional development and industry advice for new writers. Tailored early career support for the award winning writers will include residency opportunities, mentoring and industry support to help them build a sustainable career.

Resources for writers

Early career writers can be any age and from any background; it’s never too late to embark on a career as a writer.

As well as the awards, we also have a range of free resource packages full of advice and guidance from writers – from blogs to podcasts.
