Sarah Perry

‘I felt like an apprentice carpenter given the tools of the trade. Winning the East Anglian Book of the year award conferred a sense of legitimacy that I’d never quite been able to summon up: a group of writers had admired my work, and they wanted me to write more.’

Sarah Perry, who went on to write the Waterstones Book of the Year The Essex Serpent

Will you join the NCW Supporters’ Circle and play a vital part in NCW’s future?

Your support can help:

  • Give some of the best literary talent, new and old, a platform to be discovered and nurtured
  • Build a strong community of young people across Norfolk who learn that the arts belong to them whatever their background
  • Share the story of Norwich’s literary heritage and contribute to the preservation of Dragon Hall as the home of Norwich, UNESCO City of Literature

NCW is a charity and simply can’t deliver the range and depth of the work it does without support from individuals such as yourself.

What you will receive

To say thank you for being an integral part of the NCW Supporters’ Circle, and to keep you up to date with all the work we do, you will receive the following;

  • Annual Party – an invitation to you and a guest to celebrate with the NCW team at our annual gathering with friends from across the creative sector
  • Insider Book Recommendations – be the first to hear about the next big things in literature straight from our Programming team with a quarterly round-up
  • Exclusive Invitations – a chance to meet authors for special one-off events to remember (at least two events a year)
  • Accreditation – have your name listed on the spine of a book which will be placed on the Supporters’ Circle Bookshelf in Dragon Hall. Plus your name on the NCW website

‘Having the support of individuals who share our belief in the importance of writing and stories and the power they unleash is crucial to our work. Your support will enable us to work with more young people and adults to discover and foster their creativity. Your voice will add to the growing network of champions we’re creating to ensure that reading and writing for pleasure and empowerment is valued and promoted. Your backing will help us make the National Centre for Writing at Dragon Hall a place where everyone can discover the power of words. Thank you!’
