There are a number of annual events of interest to translators.

Sebald Lecture on Literary Translation – Every year the BCLT, in partnership with the National Centre for Writing, invites a renowned writer or translator to give the W.G. Sebald Lecture on Literary Translation at the British Library. Past speakers have included Jhumpa Lahiri, David Bellos, Emily Wilson, Arundhati Roy and Margaret Atwood. You can watch past lectures on the BCLT YouTube channel.

International Translation Day – International Translation Day (30 September) is the largest coming-together of the UK translation community, with an exciting programme of talks, workshops and networking opportunities. Explore English PEN’s programme and check out the events in the nationwide programme here.

London Book Fair – Each year, the London Book Fair’s Literary Translation Centre features a range of seminars, discussions and networking opportunities.
